Preliminary status check of your immigration file

Enter your application details and get, in seconds, preliminary guidance on whether your case is within the usual immigration processing times. If it is not, it is advisable to review it with a specialized attorney.

How the verifier works

Follow these 3 steps to get your preliminary result.

Step 1 of 3

Check your immigration file at the official headquarters

Before continuing, check the actual status of your case in the Ministry's immigration system. It is free and you can do it with Cl@ve or, if you do not have it, only with your NIE or your case number.

Consult at the official headquarters

You can also do it by SMS to 651 714 610 (write "NIE" or "EXPE" + your number) or by calling 902 02 22 22.

Step 2 of 3

Tell us what you saw in your immigration file

No data is stored. The calculation is performed in your browser.

Step 3 of 3

What you can do now:

Remember: this result is preliminary and theoretical, calculated from general, indicative timeframes. Actual times vary depending on the province, the office workload, the complexity of your case, and current regulatory changes. Only a direct analysis of your immigration file by our legal team can offer you an accurate and personalized assessment.

Why is the result only a guideline?

No external system can access the actual immigration data of your file with the Ministry. These are the reasons why processing times vary from one case to another.

🗂️

Case complexity

Background information, submitted documentation, or prior requirements can lengthen or shorten your specific immigration file.

🏢

Office workload

Each province and immigration office handles a different volume of files, which directly affects the processing time.

📜

Regulatory changes

Amendments to the Immigration Regulations can change deadlines and criteria from one moment to the next.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this tool check my actual immigration file?

No. The Ministry does not offer a public API for third-party websites to automatically check an immigration file. This result is based on general estimated deadlines, not on your specific case.

Where can I check the official status of my immigration file?

Free, in the official electronic headquarters, with Cl@ve or with your NIE or file number. Also via SMS to 651 714 610 (by writing "NIE" or "EXPE" + your number) or by calling 902 02 22 22. To submit documentation or make an application you do need Cl@ve, via MERCURIO.

What is "administrative silence"?

This occurs when the Administration fails to resolve your file within the legal deadline (usually 3 months), which generally has a dismissal (negative) effect. Even so, it remains obligated to issue an explicit resolution. It is advisable to review this with a lawyer as soon as possible.

What should I do if my residency application has been denied?

You have 1 calendar month from the notification to file an appeal for reconsideration (2 months if you go directly through the administrative-contentious route). Schedule a consultation as soon as possible so you do not miss that deadline.

Does your case need a real review?

Our team of lawyers can analyze your specific immigration file and tell you exactly what status it is in and what options you have.
